Senior Programmer Analyst

This is a temporary 1-year position. The Senior Programmer Analyst will provide programming support to the Banner Luminis ERP project. This position will work with various team leads to determine information needs; perform requirements analysis for any gaps in the system; determine feasibility and cost benefits of proposed system enhancements and modifications; generate system specifications; code programs and develop testing procedures. They will evaluate system performance and write comprehensive documentation.  Working with end users on system and application features, they will provide training and technical assistance to write Expert rules, workflows and POPSEL code. Using Banner API’s, the incumbent will write programs to automatically load data into Banner from external sources. The Programmer Analyst will also assist in debugging problems and enhancing existing code. The position will develop and debug applications for the integration of Banner with third-party applications such as DARS, R25, CashNet, Cognos and others. Using Oracle-related development tools, such as Sql*plus, Sql*forms and operating system environments such as Linux and Windows. This position will also perform system maintenance, including ongoing analysis, technical research and problem-solving; making performance and feature enhancements; coordinating (with other modules and IT staff) and performing user, vendor and regulatory upgrade requests in the Banner, ODS and Xtender environments. This position reports to the Banner Luminis Project Director and may receive technical direction from other members of the team as well.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or comparable experience and related continuing education required; minimum of 2 years programming and supporting higher education applications, preferably using Banner Student or equivalent preferred.  Proficiency in relational database design concepts.  Four or more years experience with Oracle PL*SQL, HTML and JavaScript.  Demonstrated experience working with Oracle tools such import/export and SQL*Loader.  Demonstrated experience working in an Oracle design and development environment.  Proficiency in working in Unix and Windows.  Proven ability to provide the highest levels of interpersonal communications with sensitivity to and understanding of the demands of a higher education environment.  Ability to work alone or as a member of a team. Demonstrated debugging and problem-solving skills.  Java programming skills, experience in Sungard Banner Student Systems, ODS and Luminis, knowledge of or experience with Oracle Forms preferred.

Communications Systems Engineer (El Segundo, CA)

In this position you would be responsible for supporting the Communication System design and analysis effort for  Airborne and Ground Integrated Communications Subsystems. This responsibility includes all aspects of developing the technical work packages including trades, cost, schedule and technical performance. Job responsibilities include performing RF Communication studies and defining associated hardware and software solutions for an airborne platform.
Basic Qualifications: BS Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 9 years total experience required. Technical expertise is required in the following areas: 1) L-Band, Ku-Band and UHF/VHF Band Communication systems, 2) Antenna system level design, 3) RF and Digital systems design, 4) Link error budget analysis and 5) Subcontractor liaison. In this position you would be responsible for executing the Electronic Warfare Systems design and analysis effort, system architecture, system cost and performance, qualification, and supplier interface. Net-Centric Avionics- Lead Engineer (El Segundo, CA)

You would be responsible for leading a small team and designing a Net-Centric C4ISR compliant architecture for special program avionics systems design. Specific duties include: analysis and understanding of customer requirements; RFP responses; specification of Avionics system level requirements, test procedures, and reports; allocation of requirements and system resources; developing subcontractor requirements; system level design and risk management; design, development, implementation and testing; coordination of support engineering and subcontractor engineering performance; management of cost accounts and schedules, performance reporting. Simulation Software Engineer (Palmdale, CA)

Our Mission Systems Engineering team is an industry model for integrating simulation into the heart of the design, development and test cycle. You would be responsible for the design, development, integration, test and associated documentation for real-time hardware in the loop (HITL), air vehicle simulations. Simulations will be used for software development, integration, and  laboratory verification and validation activities.

Systems Integration Laboratory, Team Lead (Palmdale, CA)

Your grasp of the grasp "big picture" at the total systems /air vehicle level will be a plus as you: lead and conduct trade studies for the development and implementation of advanced program avionics and flight control laboratories; and direct small teams in the creation and operation of system and segment test procedures.  You would also support laboratory design decisions related  to system processor selection, bus structure architecture and best use practices of analytical simulation/modeling tools.

Portal Developer/Administrator

This is a temporary position for 1 year. This position will support a portal, the gateway to the administrative systems as well as other applications. Utilizing a variety of languages such as Java, XML, and HTML, this position will, in collaboration with campus stakeholders and other team members, develop portal channels that enhance the value of the Portal for all the various roles. This individual will assist in the administration of the portal, develop application integration, provide single sign-on to external applications, provide routine application maintenance and upgrades, and coordinate support with other members of ITS. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and innovative team member and team leader who can work independently on projects and exercise judgment on system decisions. They should demonstrate ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as the ability to multi-task. This position reports to the Director of Portal Technologies. Serves as project lead supervising other personnel as assigned.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline. Five years of programming experience with 3-4 years in web development for medium to large projects. Experience with programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript, Java and PL/SQL; esperience with PL/SQL and Oracle databases preferred. Knowledge of web-based technologies, UNIX, Java, uPortal, web authoring and portlet development (e.g., JA-SIG portlets compatible with the Luminis portal); experience with SCT/SunGard Banner Luminis portal or JaSIG U-Portal preferred.
